The Sea by Alexander's Steakhouse

This restaurant used to be our favorite place, every year we celebrated my husband’s birthday (group party for 8-10 peoples), but this time the quality was not the same. The food was overpriced, the entrees didn’t come with vegetable, we had to order vegetable as side orders. The service was just okay. Don’t think we will be back next year.

It doesn’t look like really luxury restaurant. Time for renovations. And menu is to short.

Was here for an event. Did not stay for event dinner. But from last year's dinning experience I do not recommend spending an average of $80+ for food per person here. The seafood was not particularly fresh.

I loved everything about this seafood restaurant! Upscale feel with wonderful service. Our waitress was quick and not pushy. I had the overhaul cocktail which was seriously good. For a starter a friend and I had the tuna tartare and fried clam chowder both were fantastic! We ended up getting the king salmon for our entree, which as you probably guessed was delicious! After the meal we had cotton candy and lemon tarts both complementary! I really look forward to coming back soon!

One of my favorites restaurant in Bay area.In my most recent visit, it's pretty busy.0) quality food with reasonable price3 star is for the food1) no enough parking spotsBy assuming most big parties will do reservation, I would suggest the sea to provide valet parking service if the schedule is obviously full.2) serviceMost of the time, service is outstanding.During last visit the experience was not as good, even the drink refill is slow (we have to ask explicitly multiple times).I understand during busy time it will be a challenge to provide consistent service for all tables, and I hope the sea will address such issues in the future.

High end and expensive place for soecial occassions. Good food for meat lovers

Stick to the sea food. Two of our guest got the Wagu sampler and it was lacking. The seafood dishes seemed to be much better. The service was really good and the environment was nice for a good dinner

The service was amazing and the food was worth the wait. Everything was cooked to perfection and the side dishes were amazing.

Delicious food, but quite expensive. We had the $130 tasting menu with an average bottle of wine and the total was $450. That said, they did give us a small glass of champagne to celebrate our anniversary.

The service and food was very good. Came here with my family to celebrate a birthday. From the service to the drinks and food, it was all very good. It was my first time here and I would return again. I particularly enjoyed the Wagyu trio platter and the lobster rocks. The fish was very fresh, plating was nice and sauces delish.

The Grilled Lobster was chewy. I've never had Lobster before, and I was very excited to try this. But the dish was chewy and I didn't take another bite. My partner ordered the Steak Ribeye Medium, and it was pretty good. The seasonal vegetables were alright. The wine was pretty good, my partner seemed to enjoy it a lot.The staff was courteous and I never felt like I was left unattended so that was good. Overall I think it was overpriced for the food we had.

We had a large group dinner, and it was a fantastic experience all around! All of the courses were phenomenal. Maria led our service, and we were very well taken care of through the entire evening. They offer a fantastic and well-rounded wine list, and the cocktails are very creative. I highly recommend The Sea for a truly special dining experience.

Visiting The Sea is like listening to a well rehearsed orchestra playing On the Blue Danube, all members work in perfect harmony to deliver an exceptional, if not slightly predictable, experience. From walking in to having your first obligatory hamachi shot to enjoying a perfectly executed main dish, from land or sea, the atmosphere and service guides you on the course to fine dining nirvana. And possibly most impressive, this culinary joyride is consistently perfect every visit, I've yet to hear a single wrong note.

The service is not only overrated but highly rude. I was politely kicked out of the restaurant because my baby was crying after the service took forever and they sent our plates in wrong order. My steak was so bad I had to return it. I would never recommend this place nor come back. This is not a place worthy of its reputation

This restaurant is my preferable place. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to that place. Whenever I feel like having a decent lunchon, this place comes right away to my head. best and all sorts of food and a large menu.helpful crew, and great vibes. Also, the cost is good. I sent my friends to this spot with great pleasure.

I get to eat here a lot since I work in the area. I have to say their service is always good and they keep the spot well organized regularly. Pricing is reasonable and they serve large portions.

Birthday celebration for my wife and they made her feel really special. Great food, we had the chef's tasting menu and wine pairing. Really very, very good.

Great place and amazing service. Got a combo with fish chips and shrimp, that definitely hit the spot. Hands down best food truck, in terms of organization and friendly staff. Truly an authentic fish & chips experience, will be back on our next visit!

I like this spot! They provide delicious food, their menu is varied, The chef in that spot is very experienced, I like very much eating all their food. The dishes are always fresh and tasty, the service towards the clients is helpful. I go often to this restaurant and I was never unhappy. I recommend it to all my friends.

Excellent service and good ambiance makes this seafood restaurant one of the best in the bay. While it's name The Sea - there's still a good selection of steaks on the menu (bone-in NY cut was decent). Get the lobster rocks appetizer. It tastes a lot of better than it looks. Trust. Tip: If you are celebrating something, make sure you tell them. There'll be some small gestures in recognition.

It was fine. But a bit dated. "Classic American" with the main courses being focused around a massive piece of animal protein, against which you are invited to splash some vegetables.

Had a good experience dining at the Sea for my birthday. We ordered hamachi shots and the tasting menu. The only feedback for improvement is I wish the staff would provide recommendations on how to enjoy the dishes like the gazpacho.
